So happens we have been discussing sleeping problems on another site I view.I myself suffer from it also. Most people take sleep meds AMBIEN is the newest one know side effects. They say you do not wake up feeling droggy the next morning.
I am going to ask my doctor about AMBIEN this week.
I've had a great success with hypnotherapy tapes bought from a standard book shop.
You listen to a guy talking you to sleep and then by the end of the tape if you aren't asleep you are completely relaxed and ready to drift off by yourself. It's so good that if someone started counting whilst I was at work I could almost feeling myself drifting away again.
I was a complete synic to start with, and when the tape had finished playing the first time, I thought 'Ha - it hasn't worked', but when I opened my eyes it was morning!
Run a nice wam bath in an evening, get an old egg cup and put the same amount of milk in it that you would use to make a cup of tea. Into the milk put tree or four drops of pure lavender essential oil and then pour it into your running bath, swish it around get in and relax.
Then when you go to bed put 2 or three drops of the same lavender oil on your pillow.
Works for me!
By the way dont have anything with caffeine in it after 6 o clock ie tea coffee, drinking chocolate or alcohol. A herbal tea is ok or horlicks or just hot milk with some sugar in.
Hope it works for you.
Oh I find the one a night Nytol sometimes works as well.
Good Luck!

sorry, i just give up some nights and get up and watch late night telly!
i know, not good when you have to do things the following day!
seriously though, late night tv is that boring, i cant keep my eyes open, so it sometimes helps and don't try and catch up with sleep through the day as it then turns into a vicious circle.
i have thought about trying a relaxation tape and now it has been tried and recommended i may well get one. thanks jamie.
lavender is good, but you need the oil not some put together stuff in bubble bath form.
